Several athletes came close to increasing the leading marks of the
season this weekend. In Rhode Island Walter Henning (St. Anthony's,
South Huntington, NY) won the Rhody Classic with a toss of 63'02.75",
beating Craig Pearce (Woonsocket, RI) who nearly broke 60' again. Simi
Solanke (Classical, Providence, RI) won the women's competition with a
throw of just of 46'.
Up north in New Hampshire, John Freeman (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick,
RI) won with a mark of season best throw 63'06.25" while Megan Maloney
(LaSalle Academy, Providence, RI) easily took the women's competition
with a throw of 48'02.50".
