Once again, the women of the Missouri Valley Conference are making headlines. Last week is was Felisha Johnson (Indiana State) and the weeks before that Gwen Berry (Southern Illionis). With both continued to produce impressive marks over the weekend, it was Jeneva McCall (Southern Illinois) who came out on top this weekend with a personal best of 22.54m. Now the conference has the top three throwers in the country, all have broken 22.50m and all lie within a foot of each other.

On the men's side, Ben Bishop (Souterhn Illinois-Edwardsville) improved his personal best just under two feet. Bishop has been on a tear this indoor season, breaking 21.30 three times and now setting his best at 21.97m. That mark would rank him second in Division I, however Bishop's school is inelegble to compete in postseason competitions since they are in the process of transitioning from Division I to Division II.

Two top athletes also made a late start to the season over the weekend. Senior Leif Arrhenius (BYU) debuted at 21.06m, which places him safely inside the nation's top ten. Arrhenius placed fourth at the NCAA indoor championships last season.On the girl's side, Ida Storm (UCLA) debuted at 19.93m. Storm, a freshman from Sweden, brings with her a personal best of 60.94m in the hammer. This was her first competition ever with the weight throw.

Holly Ozanich (Wisconsin-Oshkosh) also extended her Division III lead with a personal best of 20.03m. That was her first time over the 20-meter barrier.
