With one week to go before most of the major conference championships, many of the nation's top athletes took the weekend off to rest and focus. Ryan Loughney (Ashland) improved his personal best again and improved his D2 leading mark to 69.89m. Number 2 ranked Drew Frizzell (Central Missouri) also came within inches of his best, so the Division 2 championship should be quite the battle again this year. On the women's side Dorotea Habazin (Virginia Tech) had another strong weekend and Laura Igaune (Western Kentucky) improved her personal best to 64.44m, currently the seventh best mark in Division 1.
