Women's Qualifiers for NCAA Preliminary Round

The fields for the NCAA Preliminary round have been announced with 96 women qualifying for next weekend's preliminary rounds. The qualifiers are split between the East and West region based on geographic location. The top 12 finishers in each region will move on to the NCAA final in June.

While the West region has some of the best talent with three of the top four throwers and eight of the top 11 throwers in the country. But that may actually matter little this weekend. The top throwers just have to place in the top 12, so distance does not matter. What mattrs is the level of the 12th best thrower and there the qualifying in each region will be on roughly the same level. The 12th best qualifier in the West region has a season's best less than one meter better than the 12th best qualified in the East.

The complete entries for the women can be found below.
