There were several improvements among the top 10 on both the girl's and boy's side over the weekend. For the girls, Angela Onye (Classical, Providence, RI) improved for the second straight week and now sits in sixth position with a throw of 51'08.00". Monica Phillips (Pope, Marietta, GA) and Taylor Dupont (Star's Mill, Peachtree City, GA) also both became the latest throwers to break 50-feet this season.
There were some big PRs by boys from Ohio over the past week. Dustin Brode (Canton, OH) may his season debut with a toss of 66'01.00". That mark is the sixth best in the nation this year and three and a half feet better than his personal best from last season. Fellow Ohioan George Thomas (Austintown Fitch, Youngstown, OH) also debuted the season with a throw of 63'09.00", six and a half feet better than his personal best from last year.
