Gwen Berry (Southern Illinois) continued to impress last weekend. While she did not improve her personal best again, she was still able to break the impressive 22m barrier. More importantly, she once again defeated two-time defending NCAA Champion D'Ana McCarty (Louisville) and teammate Jeneva McCall (Southern Illinois). McCarty showed she was back in form and also threw 22 meters.

On the men's side, a few of the big names have yet to start their season. Mike Zajac (South Carolina) had the top mark of the weekend. He threw a season best and was just one centimeter under his personal best from last year. Michael Lauro (LSU) also broke 21 meters for the first time while his teammate Walter Henning took the weekend off.

In the professional ranks, Amber Campbell and Jacob Freeman both won at the Millrose Games. Campbell defeated Loree Smith with a world leading mark of 24.10m. Freeman improved his season best to 24.16m. Also making a splash this weekend for Martina Hrasnova of Slovakia. The professional thrower trains in Georgia and competed in her first weight throw competition ever.

Note: CollegeHammer will be raising the cutoffs next weekend. We are sorry for posting this weekend's results so late, but it took a long time since so many throwers are throwing far this season. If we up the standards a little, we hope to get the results posted sooner.
