CollegeHammer.com Outdoor Rankings Vol. 4
Published by
CollegeHammer.com NCAA Division I Hammer Throw RankingsVolume Four - May 13 2010 Note: I will be traveling a lot for the remainder of the season. Hopefully this will not affect the site, but updates may be a day or so later than usual. Also, there will only be two more editions of the rankings this year: one before regionals and one before nationals. Men: Most of the top throwers took the weekend off, so the rankings again have few changes. Conor McCullough's (Princeton) new national junior record moves him up a spot. While his is still only ranked fifth, he has the potential to move up quickly if he can throw over 70 meters consistently.
On the bubble (in alphabetical order): John Freeman (Georgia); Brad Millar (DePaul); Matej Muza (Virginia Tech); and Jordan Stray (Oregon). Women: There were even fewer top female throwers competing last weekend. Nikola Lomnicka broke 63 meters again to win at home in Georgia, proving again that she is the only thrower so far this year that can throw over 63 meters consistently.
On the bubble (in alphabetical order): Sasha Leeth (Southern Illinois); Nicole Luckenbach (Eastern Washington); and D'Ana McCarty (Louisville). The CollegeHammer.com rankings are subjective and take into account the following factors: head-to-head record versus top rivals, season's best, previous big meet performances (i.e. peaking ability), recent performances, consistency, personal best, as well as other factors.
